**About the Role**
As a Surgical Veterinary Assistant at Petworks, you’ll:

- Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures by preparing, passing, and handling instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Set up and maintain sterile fields, ensuring proper infection control protocols are followed
- Monitor patients’ vital signs post-operatively and alert the RVT or veterinarian of any concerns
- Prepare and handle specimens for laboratory analysis
- Maintain accurate surgical documentation, including instrument counts and patient records

**What We’re Looking For**
- 2+ years of experience as a Surgical Veterinary Assistant or General Veterinary Assistant (required)
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment
- Familiarity with sterile techniques and infection control
- Strong communication, teamwork, and anticipation skills during surgery
- Laboratory or front desk experience considered an asset
- A positive attitude, adaptability, and passion for patient care
