**INFANT/TODDLER PROGRAM SUPERVISORS**
The Mount Pleasant Community Centre Association (MPCCA) operates two licenses child care centres, providing care for children 0-12 years old. Our mission is to provide high quality and affordable child care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school age children. We offer nurturing environments and learning experiences for children to ready them for life-long learning and to provide opportunities for children to develop physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively according to their individual development and learning styles.
Our Philosophy We honor and value play. We believe that through play, children learn about relationships between people, living beings, materials, and physical places. We believe that play is essential for children to develop critical thinking skills and creativity. In our centres children are given the opportunity to engage in developmentally appropriate learning activities and spend time exploring their world through play in both indoor and outdoor environments through an emergent based curriculum. We are seeking a energetic, creative and positive individuals to work as Program Supervisors in each of our infant and toddler programs at 3 Corners Child Care Centre. The successful applicants will be responsible for overseeing the care and education of infants or toddlers.
Qualifications:
- A valid Infant/Toddler Early Childhood Education Certificate issued by the BC ECE RegistryA valid First Aid Certificate
- A Criminal Record Check clearance letter
- Immunization Schedule or waiver
- Ability to provide a minimum of 3 current/satisfactory referencesMinimum 2 years’ experience working as an Infant/Toddler Supervisor in a Licensed Early Childhood Education Program
- Strong knowledge of children’s development & effective guiding and caring skillsStrong Leadership skills & work ethic
- Effective communication skills Additional Assets: Special Needs & Food Safe Certificates Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Ensuring that Licensing Regulations and MPCCA Child Care policies & procedures are implemented and maintainedSupervising and coaching staff teams
- Ensuring that the child care environment is healthy and safe for children
- Establishing and guiding staff to carry out a daily schedule that incorporates child centered small group activities, care routines and transitions
- Working with the staff to plan, prepare and implement age-appropriate activities based on children’s individual development and interests
- Build and maintain positive and professional relationships with children, families and staff
- Administration tasks including but not limited to staff schedules, newsletters, payroll, facilitating staff meeting
- Working in ratio with the children and staff Position: Maternal Cover Full-Time position (11 months contract) Start Date: October 10,2024 - September 1.2025 (Subject to change)
Rate of Pay: $28.24 -30.42 per hour based on experience, plus ECE Wage Enhancement and Benefit Days & Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, 7-7.75 hours per day, shifts vary between 7:30am-6:00pm Extra time may be required for meeting child/staff ratios, staff meeting and family events
Pay: $28.24-$30.42 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
