**Dietary Aide/Cook**

We are looking for energetic and hardworking staff that are passionate about food and love to work in a great environment. **This Part-time position is day shift only and requires availability during the week.**

**Qualifications**:

- Must be knowledge in safe food handling techniques.
- Good physical condition and able to meet the physical demands of the job.
- Must uphold, safeguard and promote our Mission and key values of excellence, dignity, justice, trust, and respect. All employees of the Motherhouse share a duty and responsibility to ensure a high level of person-centred care for our sisters, tenants, staff, and guests.
- Good attendance required
- Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills.
- Excellent listening skills, and ability to follow instructions
- Excel and working on a team, and independently
- Good attendance, and punctuality required.
- Institutional / Restaurant cooking an asset

**Current Vacancy**: Yes

**Education**:

- High School Diploma
- Safe Food Handling Certification
- Culinary, Pastry or Food Preparation programs/courses **an asset**

**Experience**:

- Food service experience (**food preparation, cooking, serving)**in an institutional setting preferred.
- Bilingualism (English/French) and customer service experience is an asset.

**Certification**:

- Safe food handler certification **required**.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check **required**.
- Be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 / Influenza, TB(2 Step) tested **required**

Pay: $19.92 per hour

**Benefits**:

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- NORTH BAY, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- professional/institutional kitchen: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Safe Food Handlers Certificate (required)
- Canadian Residency or Canadian Work Permit (required)
