**Personal Attendants/Personal Support Workers**

Since 1979, Cheshire has been a non-profit, government-funded organization that works to enable adults with significant physical disabilities and frail seniors to live actively, independently and with dignity in their own community.

Cheshire’s Personal Attendants come from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. Whether they are employed on a part-time or full-time basis, these dedicated individuals assist consumers with many aspects of their personal care and mobility.

By providing 'Person-Centered' support, Cheshire empowers our consumers by tailoring their care to their own unique needs, interests, requests, and preferences.

- Secondary School Diploma (required)
- A PSW, DSW certificate or experience/education in a similar role is preferred, but not required
- A valid Canadian Driver’s License and have regular access to a reliable vehicle
- Valid automobile insurance with liability coverage
- A current and negative Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Able to work a variety of shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends and understand the nature of our work and the importance of good attendance and reliability
- You possess knowledge/ability of proper body mechanics and safe lifting/ transferring techniques
We offer a competitive pay rate starting at 21.73 per hr. and compensation for mileage and travel time. Part-time employees are eligible to receive 8% in lieu of benefits.
On the job training and development opportunities, such as, Emergency First Aid and CPR (re)certification are also provided by the agency.
