Part-Time Home Helper

Seeking a compassionate, reliable person for part-time home helper/support position for a woman with chronic (often invisible) illness. The clients’ needs are variable, and this is reflected in the varying responsibilities of the role. Some weeks she will need help with errands, physically demanding jobs, and a walking companion. Other weeks she will need help with things like cooking and cleaning.

Details:
Hours: varying from 3 to 6 hours. Most weeks it will be 3 hours bi-weekly, and other weeks may need a few more. Schedule to be discussed in advance.
Scent reduced home (no perfumes, lotions, heavily scented products) and COVID-cautious (client is immunocompromised).
Location:Lower Sackville
Pay to be discussed

Responsibilities include:
Providing companionship, emotional support, and compassionate care
Cleaning and tidying
Cooking and meal prep, taking stock of what is needed in home etc
Grocery shopping and errands
Walking companion
Snow clearing as needed
Accompanying the client to medical appointments(rarely)
Maintaining confidentiality concerning the client

**Requirements**:
Good communication, both verbal and written in English
Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sectors check
Willing to wear a well-fitted N95 mask at all times indoors (masks provided)
Non-smoker
Own your own vehicle
Able to perform physically demanding tasks (e.g., snow clearing)
Reliable, punctual, and compassionate
Flexible (able to be booked for a few extra hours if client has a set-back)

Assets but not required:
Experience in a similar role or working with physical and mental health

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
