- Lumentum is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative student to join the Optical Communication Transport Project Management team in Ottawa, Ontario.
- The Opportunity
- 16 month work term: May 2026 - August 2027

What You’ll Be Doing- Take ownership of hardware and software projects as the lead Project Manager, defining and documenting project scope, goals, budget, and deliverables with support from the Program Manager and stakeholders-
- Develop and create the project structure and maintain thorough documentation in Confluence-
- Support the development and implementation of a broad, coordinated set of plans and programs to meet the goals and priorities of Lumentum-
- Regularly collaborate with the Program Manager to monitor and control project schedules with engineering teams and communicate project status (technical and programmatic) to stakeholders and management-
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion by leading regular occurring meetings-
- Support the development process by ordering and tracking the program’s material procurement through Oracle Enterprise Manager-
- Actively participate in hiring and onboarding the next cohort of co-ops, and develop training resources- What We’re Looking For- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business with an interest in Project or Program Management, returning to school starting September 2027- Excellent leadership skills, combining critical thinking with empathetic and diplomatic communication- Demonstrated ability to form collaborative and cooperative working relationships in all interactions- Ability to work in ambiguous situations and define a path to resolution- Excellent written and oral communication skills, motivated team player, self-starter and detail-oriented

Any of the following would be considered a strong asset:
- Working knowledge of Miro, Confluence, JIRA, Oracle, Agile, or Tableau- Detail-oriented, organized, and highly motivated individual- Ability to operate effectively in highly technical and multi project environment- Structured Project Management certifications such as PMI (CAPM), PRINCE2, Scrum, Six Sigma
