SRK Consulting is an international firm of specialist consultants who focus mainly on the mining industry. We employ over 1,600 professionals in 44 offices on 6 continents. The Canadian Groundwater Group currently has 13 staff with experience in physical and chemical hydrogeology and modeling. There are more than 25 hydrogeologists in SRK North America and more than 60 in SRK around the world.
We are seeking an **intermediate hydrogeological modeler** with experience and aptitude producing a conceptualization of the geological and hydrogeological controls of a model and integrating those into a numerical model to address key issues and questions.
This position will be based in our Vancouver office. Remote location work will not be possible.
**Description of Responsibilities**:
- A minimum of a masters or higher degree in geology, geological/civil engineering, or physical geography, with emphasis on geology, hydrogeology, hydrology, environmental engineering, and geotechnical (rock) skills.Â
- At least three years of consulting or mining experience, preferably among the disciplines listed. Â
- Technical proficiency in groundwater numerical modelling (finite difference and/or finite element '“ FEFLOWâ„¢ preferred).Â
- Proficiency in coding and statistics.Â
- Experience with or proficiency in 3D geological modelling software (Leapfrogâ„¢ preferred).Â
- Self-motivated with a desire to work both as part of multi-disciplinary teams and independently. Â
- Able to work long hours in the field, tolerating remote and variable weather conditions.Â
- Strong writing skills.Â
- Excellent oral and presentation skills.Â
- Professional registration in BC or current eligibility to obtain it.Â
- Valid driver's license valid for use in Canada with a good driving record.Â
- Currently eligible to work in Canada.Â
This position involves working in multi-disciplinary teams on a range of projects and may include international travel.Â
