Anti-human Trafficking Support Worker

**DUTIES**:
The Anti-Human Trafficking Support Worker, under the direction of the Executive Director, will provide physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual case management and direct supports to Indigenous women that identify involvement or are at risk of human trafficking and exploitation. The Anti-Human Trafficking Support Worker will be responsible for the overall service delivery to in-house clients of the Healing Our Sisters Program including providing emergency response to individuals who have experienced trauma from exploitation.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Provide effective case management and one to one supports to Human Trafficking victims and survivors to facilitate access to resources required;
- Engage with clients in a respectful, non-judgmental and supportive way that helps to improve their health and well-being, develop life skills, increase their sense of belonging, and build resilience;
- Provide crisis intervention when required;
- Develop and implement monthly programming relevant to client needs;
- Incorporate Indigenous culture as a way of being and knowing in the organization;
- Provide a safe and open space for clients to discuss trauma and exploitation;
- Complete intakes, safety plans, case notes, incident reports, plans of care, goal setting and other various documentation;
- Make appropriate referrals to a wide range of programs, services, counselling, etc. based on client needs;
- Support clients through related legal processes, including court and police reporting;
- Participate in case conference(s)/review(s) and all relevant case management meetings;
- Work from a harm reduction, trauma informed and strength based approach;
- Attend relevant training, conferences and professional development as required;
- Collect, maintain, and complete data/statistics reporting in a timely manner required to support funding sources;
- Perform light cleaning, laundry and cooking duties as required;
- Report all disclosures, safety issues, and serious occurrences to the appropriate contact.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent in the social services field or other related fields, and/or 3+ years of relevant experience is essential;
- A strong understanding of Human Trafficking for the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation;
- Previous experience working with victims of crime including violence, assault, and human trafficking;
- Specialized training and experience in victim assistance, crisis intervention, mental health, and other traumas;
- Strong communication skills with the ability to create and maintain trusting relationships with vulnerable Indigenous women; empathetic listening skills;
- Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture and history and impacts of trauma;
- Strong interpersonal boundaries and professional ethics;
- Detailed organizational and documentation management skills;
- Ability to work under pressure within stressful situations and shift priorities when necessary;
- Access to a reliable vehicle, a valid Ontario “G” class driver’s license and clean driving record;
- Valid First Aid/ CPR, Non-violent Crisis Intervention, and Trauma Informed Training;
- Clear Criminal Record Check (CPIC) with Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS).
**SALARY**: $24.00/hr
**JOB TYPE**:Full-time Contract until March 31, 2025 (Monday to Friday ) 10am-6pm
