The Daily Bread Outreach is a Catholic ministry of hope which operates from the hall of Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica in the heart of downtown Halifax. Over 20 volunteers help to feed 82 people on average four days a week. Our Outreach’s mission is “To embody the love of God for all who walk through our door.”

The Archdiocese of Halifax Yarmouth is seeking a passionate and service oriented Daily Bread Outreach Coordinator who is responsible for supporting a team of volunteers and our guests by coordinating the services provided through this ministry. The Coordinator will employ a trauma-informed approach consistent with our Code of Conduct and core values, mercy and compassion.
- 3 years of experience working with volunteers and vulnerable persons or similar environment is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize and work well in a multi-task environment.
- Demonstrated above average written and oral communications skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality, diplomacy and hospitality
- Demonstrated financial management skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with office technology including: telephone systems, social media platforms, and office programs such as MS Office/ Google Suite.
- Experience with community development and community-based research
- Strong crisis intervention and conflict management skill
- Committed to active participation in the parish community

**Who You Are**: You are a passionate and service-oriented person who enjoys working with others, especially those on the margins. You have a heart for serving those in need and strong interpersonal skills. You enjoy working with volunteer teams to create impactful community spaces.
