The primary goal of this position is to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery and personal development programs. Clinical duties are supervised by the program area manager, as applicable. Responsibilities include providing information programming, participation in drug strategy initiatives, individual and group counseling and harm reduction program implementation and documentation within a dynamic and nontraditional team milieu. **Human Resources Exemption**:No **Experience** - Six (6) months clinical experience in the specific department/area/program **Education** - Mental Health & Addictions Counselling Diploma **Competencies** - Intermediate - Communication skills - Advanced - Interpersonal skills - Intermediate - Written Communication Skills - Basic - Crisis management skills - Intermediate - Organizational skills **Knowledge and Abilities** - Ability to develop appropriate recovery plans - Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team - Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies - Ability to administer chemical dependency screening and assessment tools - Knowledge in development model of recovery (SMRS) - Knowledge in Motivational Assessment Process - Knowledge in addictions specific twelve core functions - Knowledge in community resources and services in the clinical area - Knowledge in individual assessment and counselling skills **Other Information** - accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" - "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is the largest employer in Saskatchewan, employing more than 45,000 staff in a dynamic healthcare environment.
