New Era Groceries and Confectionary is a locally owned and operated full-service grocery and confectionery specializing in Jamaican, Persian, Ethiopian and Middle Eastern food, and products.

We are looking for two individuals who are reliable, customer service oriented, and have good communication skills to join our store in Regina as a Grocery Store Clerk on a permanent full-time basis. You will have knowledge and understanding of Caribbean and other ethnic foods and products to answer customer questions and to make product recommendations.

**Duties/Responsibilities**
- Greet customers, answer their queries, and assist them in finding merchandise as needed;
- Order products as needed, stock shelves, and ensure products are appropriately priced;
- Properly display all store products in an organized manner so that customers can find them easily;
- Operate the cash register and conduct all transactions related to payment at the store counter, and bag merchandise for customer;
- Monitor those in the store to help ensure loss prevention;
- Handle customer complaints, issues and questions;
- Identify current and future customer needs by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers;
- Assists in keeping the stockroom and loading area in a clean and orderly condition;
- Maintain health and safety measures and store’s cleanliness; and
- Other duties as assigned by store manager.

**Required Skills and Experience**
- Knowledge and understanding of Caribbean and ethnic foods and products to correctly answer customer questions and provide product information and recommendations;
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills in dealing with customers;
- Strong verbal communication and organizational skills;
- Friendly and approachable demeanor;
- Punctual and accountable when arriving to work and closing out cash register;
- Attention to detail for building and stocking displays to store standards;
- Ability to multitask and balance the needs of several customers at once;
- Ability to spend an extended period working in a standing position; and
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
