Employment Type: Full Time - Permanent

Salary Range: SP2, Level 4, $74,242- $92,803 per year. The final compensation for this position will be determined based on individual factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.

Analyst, Applications Systems and Data - Hybrid

The Opportunity

Using your well-honed skills in data retrieval and analysis, understanding business needs, troubleshooting, and building relationships, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the Regulatory Applications Branch meets - or exceeds - it’s timeline targets.

As the Analyst, Applications Systems and Data you’ll exercise your ability to solve non-standard problems, along with a stellar ability to review and analyze data to prepare reports with high impact and consequence for both internal and external audiences. This role plays a pivotal role supporting the day-to-day work of the branch and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

What your day-to-day will look like:
- Conduct data reviews and trend analysis to explain, interpret and provide customized information to teams and leadership. Identify data integrity issues and provide input on how to improve data processes. Prepare raw data and associated reporting for use in branch planning. Responds and provides solutions to routine and ad hoc data requests.- Identify emerging issues and opportunities that support the branch’s strategic direction, identify inefficiencies, and coordinate work to address opportunities within the branch to ensure branch business goals are met.- Coordinate and fulfill action requests to the branch originating from the Government of Alberta, AER Board, CEO’s and COO’s offices, and VP’s office.-
What we’re looking for in you:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, project management or a related field along with 3 to 5 years of experience in an energy or regulatory environment that includes analytics, project work (leading projects), continuous improvement initiatives, and/or planning.- Ability to lead by influence and meet tight deadlines while managing a wide variety of tasks and requests.- Strategic and critical thinking to analyze issues and propose solutions.- Work independently or with staff and leaders in multiple disciplines across all levels of the organization.
