**Overview**
We are seeking a **Private Chef Assistant** to support our culinary team during private dining experiences and group events across Ontario. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about cooking, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in helping deliver elevated, memorable dining experiences.

You’ll assist the chef with preparation, plating, setup, and teardown at client homes and event venues. Events are scheduled on an as-needed basis, with flexible hours depending on bookings.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in **food preparation**, plating, and presentation under the direction of the chef.
- Help maintain **organization, cleanliness, and efficiency** in the kitchen and during service.
- Support with **transportation, setup, and teardown** at event locations.
- Collaborate during service to ensure a smooth, professional dining experience.
- Occasionally assist with **inventory, washing, and cleanup** after events.

**Requirements**:

- Previous **culinary or restaurant experience** preferred (private chef or catering experience is an asset).
- Strong understanding of kitchen fundamentals, food safety, and prep techniques.
- Must be **organized, proactive, and calm under pressure** in high-end dining environments.
- A **team-oriented attitude** with professionalism and humility — no ego, just good teamwork.
- Must have **reliable transportation** to reach the chef’s kitchen in **Richmond Hill** (pickup point).
- Must be comfortable with **travel**, as events take place not only around the **GTA and Toronto area**, but also in **Muskoka, Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Peterborough**.
- **No personal vehicle is required**, but assistants must be comfortable with long-distance drives (up to 2 hours) in the chef’s vehicle when traveling to event locations.

**About the Role**
This is a **freelance/casual position**, perfect for cooks, culinary students, or professionals looking for flexible, event-based work. Hours and locations vary depending on event bookings. Compensation is competitive and based on experience, role, and event size.
