We offer affordable assisted retirement living on a picturesque ravine lot in the village of Clarkson just steps from public transport and the shops and restaurants of Lakeshore Rd. West. Wawel Villa Seniors Residence is looking for a professional PSW to join our great team environment in a casual role.

**MUST have a PSW Certificate**

**Location: 880 Clarkson Road South, Mississauga, ON, L5J 4N4**

**HOURS OF WORK**:
Hours will vary depending on coverage needs.
Shift times include**:7am-3pm**, **3pm-11pm, 4pm-9pm, 4pm-10pm, 11pm-7am**
**Must be available to work every other weekend.**

**DUTIES**:

- Provides personal care for residents including all activities of daily living to ensure the optimum physical, social and emotional well being.
- Communicates effectively with residents, staff and families.
- Assists residents with ambulation and transferring using applicable equipment and lifting devices.
- Prepares and delivers beverages and snacks to residents as well as loads, unloads, and cleans cart.
- Provides excellent customer service at all times. Is respectful, courteous and pleasant.
- Provides individualized service and creates a home-like atmosphere.
- Observes and reports changes in the resident's status, records necessary data.
- Shares responsibility for care of equipment in the Home and personal belongings of residents.
- Works co-operatively with team members and receives direction from registered staff.
- Participates in quality improvement activities as directed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS**:

- A _Personal Support Worker or Equivalent Certificate _from a recognized institution from a province in Canada.
- Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in writing with residents, families, staff members, and the visiting public.
- Sensitive, empathetic and understanding of resident behaviour and needs.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to organize work in a manner that ensures resident safety.
- Knowledge of basic infection control principles and the use of personal protective equipment
- Demonstrated capability to fulfill the physical demands and time availability requirements of the position

Successful applicants must provide current police check-vulnerable sector screening and medical clearance regarding current immunization status.
