**Job Description**:
We are looking for an Underwriting Coordinator
As a member of the Underwriting Analyst team in Winnipeg, the Underwriting Coordinator will be responsible for:
To assist Underwriters and Underwriting Analysts with renewals, marketing, prospect work, and financial reports. Retrieving and parsing information from Head Office systems and databases as well as updating the required tools. The coordinator’s tasks involve initiating/completing both the renewal and financial workflow. The quality and timeliness of the work have a direct impact on the overall goals and objectives of the department.
**What you will do**
- Record sold rates and Pooling charges on both Head Office and Self Accounting cases including validating and confirming class structures are set up accurately.
- Complete Monthly Reports for the department used in the Renewal and Financial Process including reports supporting other Underwriting regions.
- Update system databases and tools to provide accurate management reporting for the department. This also includes some systems and tools that impact all Group Underwriting locations as well as databases that support the financial reporting department.
- Verify and initiate census data requests for all renewals - including GroupNet extracts and GOLF data requests. Record and distribute once received.
- Run various programs accessing information from mainframe (TSO), Cybrary, and GroupNet. Download Life Claims, Waiver Claims, and LTD Claims information. Once downloaded the information may need to be parsed and/or run through other programs that are in Excel or Access.
**What you will bring**
- Education/skills acquired at post-secondary level or equivalent, or a combination of education and work experience.
- Highly organized with good organizational skills and capable of handling and prioritizing multiple tasks.
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative, who works well independently.
- Professional and comfortable dealing with all levels of staff
- Mathematical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of Group Insurance would be an asset but is not required.
