**Overview**

The Corporation of the City of Cornwall is seeking a Transit Coordinator for our Transit Division. Cornwall Transit is the public transportation provider for the City of Cornwall and transports over 940,000 riders annually. Cornwall Transit offers a family of services Monday to Saturday. The services include conventional bus service with 7 regular routes operating on a 30-minute frequency in the daytime and a 60-minute frequency in the evenings until 11:45 pm, and industrial routes that service the Cornwall Business Park, Monday to Friday during peak times and late evening. Our Specialized Transit service provides up to 25,000 door-to-to door trips to persons with disabilities.

**The Transit Coordinator is responsible in ensuring the proper execution of the following**:

- Regular contact with the public to process Specialized Transit bookings and modify schedule requests. Public interaction involves providing explanation and discussions to obtain and maintain a harmonious relationship with Transit customers
- Provide information regarding transit policies and procedures. Dispatch all Transit telephone calls, provide Transit route and schedule information, and reply to all counter inquiries
- Electronic processing of monthly bus passes and promoting and educating the general public in the use of smartcard contactless payments
- Dispatch transportation bookings, cancellations, and other communications to Bus Operators via computer and two-way radio. Regular contact with all Transit staff in order to schedule and coordinate the delivery of Specialized Transit service
- Assist in the registration of new users and maintain an up-to-date registry of authorized clients for Specialized Transit service
- Prepare statistical reports regarding Specialized Transit service monthly
- Assist clerical and managing staff as required, and occasionally attend seminars to promote changes and advancements with Cornwall Transit
- Perform other duties as required by the Transit Coordinator position

**Required Qualifications & Experience**
- Must possess a Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Experience in an administrative role
- Knowledge of M.T.O. legislations and A.D.O.A. transportation & customer service standards will be considered assets
- Core competencies for the position include strong administrative ability, maintaining a strong commitment to ongoing learning and self-development, being action oriented while possessing perseverance to see an objective through to the end
- Fully bilingual in French and English required (testing to be conducted)

The City of Cornwall offers a sector competitive starting wage of $23.31 per hour, 37.5 hours per week plus OMERS pension.
