**Role Responsibilities**
- Lead the development and sustainment of the Indigenous Relations strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community engagement commitments.
- Build and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, governments, and organizations across Northern Alberta.
- Promote cultural awareness within the organization through training, dialogue, and leadership and team member engagement.
- Advise senior leadership and Al-Pac’s board of directors on Indigenous relations matters.
- Lead and foster collaboration across all levels of the organization to ensure that Al-Pac’s Indigenous Relations Strategy is well understood and incorporated into departmental business planning, project planning and operations.
- Lead and guide Indigenous community engagement initiatives in alignment with Al-Pac’s Indigenous Relations Strategy.
- Guide consultation initiatives, including regulatory consultation activities.
- Support enterprise certification initiatives, including managing Al-Pac’s Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations certification.
- Represent the company in external forums, including industry associations, multi-stakeholder groups and government consultations.

**Role Requirements**
- Preferred post-secondary degree in Indigenous Studies, Business, Social Sciences or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Indigenous relations, stakeholder engagement, or community development.
- Proven track record of building strong relationships with Indigenous communities, governments and organizations.
- Strong understanding of Indigenous history, cultures, governance structures, and legal frameworks in Canada.
- Demonstrated experience in consultation with Indigenous communities on major project development within the forestry, manufacturing, or industrial industries is an asset.

- Deep understanding of Indigenous governance structures, cultures and histories.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
- Strategic thinking and ability to align long-term vision with operational execution.
- Knowledge of co-operative models and community development practices.
- Familiarity with regulatory environments, government relations, and consultation requirements.
- Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder environments with diplomacy and authenticity.
- Comfortable with regular travel and working outside of regular business hours.

Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and supportive team player for the role of **Mechanical Engineering Co-Op** to work with our Engineering Team. The role will allow you the opportunity to see, learn and implement engineering skills in a large plant environment.
