The Tourism Burlington team provides energy and support to the tourism community in Burlington. We are a multi-faceted team with strengths in special projects and events, culinary, customer service and social media content, just to name a few. **Your Job**

We need you, a young professional, to support our senior staff in the day-to-day operations of the tourism office and Visitor Information Centre. The role will provide real-time experience and good exposure to a variety of tasks within the hospitality and tourism sector from attending meetings with business partners to assisting with overall administration, customer services, and marketing.

As our Office Assistant, you are someone who loves to write engaging and fun content for consumer newsletters or responses to visitor or partner inquiries. Someone who enjoys collaborating as a team to support several ongoing tasks at one time. Someone who will take pride in tourism, as we do.

We are looking for a superstar administrator who will join our tourism dream team and take full-on responsibility for supporting us while we execute our objectives toward stewarding and marketing Burlington as an exciting destination.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Follow up with brochure inventory with Ontario and Regional travel centres;
- Attend meetings, prepare packages, record and prepare minutes;
- Prepare delegate packages for conferences, corporate events, sports teams, and information booths;
- Collect and input partner attraction, accommodation and restaurant statistics;
- Develop and distribute electronic newsletters for Taste of Burlington, Tourism Consumers, and Partners;
- Follow up on outstanding invoices for partners;
- Send communication and participation packages to partners;
- Manager internal contact databases;
- Support marketing and project programs;
- Update and maintain event listings and the tourism website’s calendar of events;
- Provide backup for customer services and retail souvenir sales;
- Provide backup support for the Visitor Information Centre as required (including some weekends);
- Assist with inputting statistics for the visitor centre and event information booth;
- Assist with the distribution (shipping and direct delivery) of guides, tear maps and other collateral;
- Assist with the supervision of seasonal summer students.

**Requirements**:
The ideal individual will possess the following qualifications and preferences:

- Experience with MS Teams and Zoom;
- MS Office, primarily Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
- Professional and works well with teams;
- Flexible with the ability to multi-task;
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to lift boxes of brochures up to 30lbs.
- Ability to work some weekends and evenings;
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

**Preferred Competencies and Skills**
- Administrative experience;
- Experience with Constant Contact or Mailchimp an asset;
- Experience with SurveyMonkey an asset;
- Bilingual - French and asset;
- Experience with WordPress an asset;
- Previous experience with Square Payments is an asset;
- Effective listening, interpersonal and presentation skills;
- Customer service experience;
- Willingness to occasionally travel to Burlington locations.

Tourism Burlington is the official destination marketing organization for the City of Burlington, Ontario, Canada. We are a non-profit organization managed by a volunteer, industry-led Board of Directors and funded primarily by the City of Burlington. In addition to destination marketing, we operate a year-round visitor information centre.

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$46,000.00 per year
