Core Facility Technician

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of **Core Facility Technician**.

This full-time, permanent position is based at our Touquoy mine site in Moose River Gold Mines, located approximately 1-hour northeast of Halifax, near Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia. The compensation is $23.50/hour, while the schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Reporting to the Core Facility Supervisor, the Core Facility Technician handles and processes core to the highest standards to ensure outstanding data quality while following health and safety rules and standard operating procedures. Additionally, the Core Facility Technician will assist with the day-to-day duties of Exploration and Operations.

**The Opportunity**
- Ensuring own Health & Safety as well as that of all other workers, identifying and maintaining safe work practices and completing all required safety training.
- Follow SOP/SWPs
- Monitoring and ensuring contractors safety
- Transporting core
- Thoroughly proof-read sample sheet, looking for irregularities and notifying the supervisor if anything needs to be corrected.
- Maintaining samples in correct order
- Counting, measuring, weighing, and labelling samples as needed
- Ensuring sampling machinery and tools are clean and in a workable condition, notify supervisor if there are any necessary repairs to be done
- Reporting any irregular findings with core to supervisor
- Organizing and preparing samples as requested
- Working with Core Facility Supervisor to improve sample processes
- Assisting Geologists in the field during drilling campaigns
- Site clean-up as required
- General labour work
- Household duties
- Inspecting and managing of a preventative maintenance system
