**Paladin Security is Hiring a Casual Security Guard**:
**Location**: Thunder Bay, ON
**Pay Rate**: $18.35 - $19.80/hour (based on experience)
**Employment Type**: Casual / As Needed
**About the Role**:
Paladin Security Group is seeking Casual Security Guards to join our growing team in Thunder Bay. This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, essential services environment. As a casual guard, you’ll support hospital and healthcare sites across Thunder Bay, helping ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Please note that this position is “as needed” — minimum hours are not guaranteed. Flexibility, including overnight availability and the ability to accept shifts on short notice, is required.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, entrances, and patient care areas, ensuring site safety and compliance.
- Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate CCTV and alarm systems to detect and report suspicious or unsafe activity.
- Access Control: Oversee entry points, verifying identification and granting access only to authorized personnel.
- Customer Service: Provide assistance and directions to visitors, patients, and hospital staff in a courteous, professional manner.
- Conflict Resolution: De-escalate disputes calmly and effectively, maintaining safety and professionalism at all times.
- Report Writing: Maintain accurate logs and detailed incident reports for all security and safety-related events.
- Collaboration: Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to ensure a coordinated response and secure environment.
- Policy Enforcement: Enforce hospital safety and visitor policies in line with site standards and protocols.

**Requirements**:
**Must-Have Qualifications**:

- Valid Security License for the Province of Ontario
- First Aid & CPR - Level C certification (WSIB-approved provider)
- COVID-19 vaccination (two doses)
- Immunization records for MMR, Varicella, and two-step TB test (completed)
- Valid G-Class Driver’s License with a clean 3-year abstract
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
- Legally authorized to work in Canada

**Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications)**:

- Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants without these certifications may complete Paladin’s UOF/MOAB training program prior to onboarding (training costs covered by Paladin with a 6-month commitment)
- Prior security, law enforcement, or healthcare experience preferred
