**Company Description**

To better serve our customers, LYNUM-Progressive Industries is looking to add a Sales Applications Engineer to join our team in support of our Western Canadian salesforce and customers in the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, and the Sunshine Coast.

We are a distributor of industrial and process equipment headquartered in Surrey, BC, and a member of the LYNUM Group, which also includes two manufacturing companies, Progressive Rubber Industries (PRI) in Kamloops, BC, and Progressive Polyurethane Products (P3) in Surrey, BC, that specialize in abrasion and corrosion wear resistance products primarily for the mining, aggregate, energy, and municipal sectors.

**Role and Duties**

As the Surrey, BC, based Sales Applications Engineer for LYNUM-Progressive Industries, this position will support and grow the market for all LYNUM’s products and services, which will include:

- Supporting the Western Canadian outside salesforce with equipment specifications, generating technical proposals, and other customer requests of a technical nature
- Generating and offering effective technical sales presentations with the support of Technical Sales Reps
- Making sales calls on local aggregate, industrial, and forestry customer head offices and operating plants
- Ability to establish rapport with a diverse range of customers, identify customer needs and sales opportunities
- Represent LYNUM professionally at industry events as required
- Become knowledgeable with our products and attend training as required
- Ability & willingness to manage overnight business travel as required
- Maintain CRM with opportunities, contacts, proposal documents
- Soliciting quotes from our suppliers with the help of Customer Service Reps & Inside Sales
- Ensure profitability for our suppliers and manufacturers with the support of the Sales Manager
- Provide input for marketing, new initiatives & sales growth opportunities

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated with a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills
- Experience in industrial sales (inside or outside), and/or sales operations (sales system improvement, CRM, ERP software) is an asset
- A degree or diploma in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is strongly valued
- A good mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment and field-based work is an asset
- The ability to work both independently as well as with a team is essential
- Demonstrated written, verbal, and digital communication skills, including computer & software competency to complete duties, experience generating technical proposals is highly valued
- A sense of urgency - someone who is results orientated and motivated by achieving goals and completing tasks with a high level of accuracy
- Must have a valid drivers license, an acceptable drivers abstract, and the ability to travel overnight, and internationally as required

**Remuneration**

LYNUM-Progressive Industries offers a competitive compensation package that is a combination of salary and performance bonus plus benefits.

The level of compensation is commensurate with experience.
