Valard Construction LP is seeking a qualified Project Coordinator to join our team of project support staff in our Winnipeg Office.

Reporting to Project Management, the Project Coordinator provides support and helps project management to coordinate material and all the logistics and reporting. Project Coordinator will be under the mentorship of a Project Manager assisting with moving projects forward by maintaining project schedule, cost and strong team communication, contributing to the overall success of the project. In this position, the Project Coordinator would gain field, construction industry, and project management experience while representing Valard and the assigned project.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Help coordinate staff and resources as guided by the construction manager or site supervisors to establish workflow.
- Planning projects to accomplish goals within constraints such as time, cost and agreed quality standards.
- Managing the project on a day-to-day basis including preparing and forwarding project updates and reports to the Manager.
- Coordinating communication between staff and 3rd parties as required
- Liaising between the field construction staff and design engineers
- Liaising with third party engineers when needed
- Reviewing drawings and providing input on any engineering issues to CM’s/Supervisors
- Supporting the Quality Department with technical engineering support when needed
- Interpreting drawings related to the field.
- Tracking and reporting project information by communicating project data in different formats; Reports, Presentations, etc.
- Creating, maintaining & constantly looking to improve project processes.
- Support scheduling, accounting, cost & document control, procurement, project filing & communication with all parties.
- Sound Knowledge of project documents including schedule, drawings, and specifications
- Create procedures and reporting for the management on site.
- Purchasing Support - Creation and entry of purchase orders, entry of packing slips/tickets, expense report submissions and reconciliation/closeout support of purchase orders into Valard Systems. Payroll issue support, communicating with site and corporate Payroll.
- Timesheet Support - Reviewing timesheets for consistency and correctness, time entry into Valard’s payroll system.
- Accommodation and Travel Coordination - Booking requests for travel and accommodation related to this project, coordinating with the corporate Travel Department
- IT requests - Relaying requests to IT for site equipment or access and ensure it is provided or implemented per the request.
- Operations Support - Creating and maintaining utility locates.
- Hard copy document management (ex. updating Foremen Binders as new drawings come available)
- Learning and using Valard systems to complete day-to-day tasks.
- Documenting and distributing meeting minutes for various meetings
- Ensure that all employee information is kept confidential and secured.
- Self-starter and the ability to work in a team environment or independently.
- Collect and provide all the necessary documents and information for site management.
- Developing contacts throughout the company and having the ability to track down pertinent and essential information through these contacts.

**Education & Experience**:

- Preferred 2 years’ experience in a related field of work in an administrative role.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience working on a construction site office would be an asset.
- Experience working with a utility company is a strong asset.
- Previous experience utilizing JD Edwards would be considered an asset.
- Exemplary knowledge and experience with Microsoft office programs
- Knowledge of project schedule software would be an asset.
- Willingness to provide occasional on-site shift coverage would be considered an asset
