Job Description: - "We connect communities and customers to the people and places important in their lives”_ **INTERNAL AUDITOR** Victoria **The opportunity** The Internal Audit department functionally reports to the Board of BC Ferries and administratively to the CFO, and is responsible for the delivery of the annual audit plan. The Internal Auditor will work in supporting the Internal Audit function to deliver the audit plan, working directly with all levels of the organization. Reporting to the Executive Director, Internal Audit, you will assess risk and controls, and carry out analyses and procedural reviews in financial reporting, regulatory compliance and operations. You will work both independently and as a team member to perform consulting and audit activities, ensuring findings are adequately documented and in compliance with BC Ferries’ Internal Audit procedures. **Qualification and Skills** An analytical, achievement-oriented, professional responsible for supporting the delivery of the Annual Audit Plan. You will participate in determining scope and areas to be reviewed and addressed, and you will prepare an audit report which effectively communicates the audit results. You possess high ethical principles and strong knowledge in business process documentation, analysis and implementation. You have excellent communication skills, presenting information clearly and persuasively to a variety of audiences, including senior executives. You are resourceful and adaptive, working effectively to solve problems in fast-paced environments that involve uncertainty. You have a recognized accounting designation, and/or you are working towards or have successfully completed the advanced professional audit certification (CIA). You bring a minimum of five years’ of audit experience, ideally a combination of public practice and industry experience, along with a demonstrated ability to develop and manage audit plans across multiple locations. You also have experience with corporate governance regulations and IFRS, as well as IT systems audits and fraud investigations.
