**FOOD SERVICES WORKER (Full-Time Days, M-F, TERM POSITION)**

**The Clubhouse** is a community-based, Mental Health Rehabilitation Agency funded by the W.R.H.A. since 1999.

Membership is free and voluntary for adults with a primary diagnosis of a severe and persistent mental illness (schizophrenia, major depression, bi-polar disorder, anxiety disorder, etc.). Members are engaged and motivated by Staff as part of their recovery to improve their lives through our work, educational and social opportunities.

Our **_non-clinical_** Model revolves around the concept of a Work-Ordered Dayand engages both Members and Staff, as Colleagues, in the day-to-day operation of the organization. Members choose to volunteer in the pre-vocational job opportunities in our various Work Units.

This results in our Members becoming increasingly self-confident and developing the courage to return to school or to paid employment, thus becoming increasingly independent in their community living.

**The Position**:
We require a mature, positive, good-natured and professionally-minded person with an exemplary work ethic, energy and enthusiasm to join our TEAM. You enjoy motivating others to develop positive work and life skills, are flexible and adaptable, are able to empathize with people experiencing mental illness and also be patient and have a good sense of humour. You are a hands-on facilitator adept at resolving problems as they arise, can co-operate with fellow Staff and Members, can advocate on behalf of others and can take direction as required.

As a Clubhouse worker, you must be willing to engage, encourage, and work side-by-side with program participants in the Work Unit.

**Qualifications**:

- **NB: GENERAL KITCHEN / COOKING SKILLS** **ARE ESSENTIAL**_._
- **FOOD SERVICES / COOKING** Diploma with relevant work and life experience is desired.
- Experience in **FOOD SERVICES /RESTAURANT** work is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and car are desired
- **_Excellent physical and mental/emotional health is essential_ to carry out the requirements of this position.**

**Salary: $35,000 for the TERM ( 9 Months )**
