**Position Summary**
**Under the supervision of the Area Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of contracted assets (roadways, vegetation, etc.) as directed by the Area Supervisor.**:
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:

- ** Removal of snow and ice by using snow removal equipment**:

- ** Assist with loading and unloading of winter materials**:

- ** Maintain highway and other surfaces by removal of litter and debris**:

- ** Operate vehicles and equipment as required: for surface and right-of-way maintenance to control vegetation appearance and growth.**:
**As Required**:

- ** May assist with traffic control setup and removal**:

- ** Transport crew and equipment to work sites**:

- ** Required to be available for emergency response as needed for overtime,**evenings, weekends,** and holidays.**:

- ** Willing to travel**:

- ** All other duties as assigned.**:

***Education and Experience**:

- ** High School Diploma or equivalent**:

- ** Minimum 1-year work experience in construction, road maintenance,**commercial/industrial repair,** maintenance or landscaping (outdoor work)**:

- ** Experience in operating a loader (asset)**:

- ** Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license and acceptable driving record.**:

- ** Successful completion of training in traffic control methods, first aid, transportation of dangerous goods, WHMIS and job-related aspects of Occupational Health.**:

**Work Environment**
**While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely exposed to outside**weather conditions** including extreme heat and cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; fume or airborne particles. Frequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, frequent exposure to insects and infrequent exposure to reptiles/rodents, the noise level in the work environment usually moderate but on occasion can be more than moderate**:
