**AKV - Water Truck Driver - Casual**

The operator is responsible for the condition of the truck and all its equipment and making sure that routine and corrective maintenance are conducted to keep the truck in proper operating condition. This includes receiving complaints about schedules and levels and quality of service. The water truck operator must make note of and report on any such complaints and respond in a courteous and respectful manner.

The operator is also responsible for the cleanliness and order of the shop area where the truck is parked. This position is also responsible for a variety of tasks including interacting with the public in a courteous and respectful manner. The water truck driver must work outside in all different weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme hot weather. The operator will work independently and is expected to maintain a schedule of deliver.

**Duties/Responsibilities**:

- Routine filling of residents’ cisterns
- Responding to requests to fill residents’ cisterns.
- Responding to any other requests for water service as authorized by management.
- Inspecting the truck and completing inspection reports daily
- Correctly and completely recording delivery information on the delivery log for every routine and special delivery
- Filling out accurate and complete timesheets and submitting to management in accordance with the time sheet schedule
- Participating in other activities for Akamihk Energy as requested by management from time to time.
- Maintaining order and cleanliness in the shop where the truck is parked including removing garbage, keeping the floor clean and storing properly any items or equipment required in the shop.
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislations, policies, and procedures.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Perform pre and post trip inspections which requires climbing on the water truck.
- Ensure trucks and equipment are safely and securely stored.
- Advise the Manager of any requirements for maintenance or repair.
- Is constantly aware of the conditions on site to ensure the proper moisture is maintained so that compactions specifications can be met.
- Participate in routine maintenance and safety meetings.
- Delivery of water to all residential, business, and other facilities
- Maintain daily records of delivery.
- Practice workplace safety.
- Perform other related duties.
- Any duties assigned to you by your immediate supervisor.
- Any duties assigned to you by the departments, entities of MFN Management Inc

**Required Skills/Abilities**:

- Must have valid class 1 driver’s license with clean drivers abstract.
- Must be able to pass all required DOT testing.
- Ability to remain focused in a busy environment.
- Basic knowledge of hazards and safety procedures that are common with using heavy equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Knowledge of mechanical and problem-solving skills.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Able to complete physically demanding work.
- Ability to get climb in, around and out of equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50 pounds at a time.
- Must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
- Must be available to work sometime on weekends and holidays.
