**Job Summary**

We promptly respond to service requests at all hours of the day and night. This is an on-call position, and it is imperative that you be able to respond quickly when dispatched.

**Responsibilities**
- Use company-owned vehicles to remove decedents from place of death (home, hospital, care facility, accident scene, or other location) and transport to funeral home or medical examiner office.
- Respectfully and professionally interact with healthcare staff, families, funeral home employees, and law enforcement.
- Verify proper identification of deceased, and collection of any paperwork and personal effect.
- Exhibit sensitivity to environment; minimize conversation and interaction with families.
- Maintain professionalism when entering funeral homes, facilities and private family residences and during challenging situations.
- Help with preparation of the decedent including dressing, lifting, and casketing.
- Vehicle upkeep including fueling, stocking personal protective equipment and removal supplies, regularly washing, vacuuming, and detailing vehicles.
- Identify vehicle operating issues to management; drive vehicles for repair or inspection when required.
- Run errands such as picking up or dropping off supplies, or documentation.
- Prepare chapel for services including cleaning chapel, the arrangement of chairs, caskets, urns, or other display items as directed.

**Requirements**:

- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Professional attire
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds; push/pull up to 250 pounds
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors regardless of weather conditions. Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends and to accommodate business needs.
- Ability to effectively self-manage time and resources ensuring work is efficiently completed.
- Must be able to follow directions, policies, and procedures with little supervision.
- Complete necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
