The Personal Support Worker is required to provide, and assist in the planning of, personal care to each resident under the direction and supervision of the Director of Care/designate.

1. Performs personal care and selected nursing measures to promote the comfort and safety of the residents under the supervision of a Registered Healthcare Professional such as a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

2. Participates in the overall activation process developed by the facility to promote the well-being of each resident.

3. Attends the care conferences as requested by the Director of Care/designate to assist in the formulation of a comprehensive plan of care for each resident.

4. Observes and promptly reports changes in a resident’s physical and emotional condition.

5. Maintains accurate documentation, according to established policies, reflecting each resident’s condition, care, and treatments.

6. Deals tactfully and courteously with residents, residents’ families, and visitors.

7. Directs all inquiries regarding residents’ care and conditions to the Charge Nurse.

8. Participates in the Quality Improvement Program.

9. Is aware of the Resident Rights and Responsibilities and endeavours to respect and promote it.

10. Assists in maintaining a tidy and clean environment.

11. Attends staff meetings as required - to know changes in the facility that have taken place and update knowledge in better caring for the residents.

12. Reports all accidents and incidents promptly and accurately.

13. Shares responsibility for the care of supplies and equipment as well as the personal belongings of the residents.

14. Attends in-service programs to better care for the residents.

15. Performs other related duties as requested by the Director of Care/designate.

16. Knowledge of home care services, both private pay and government funded

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: From $20.09 per hour
