Construction Safety Officer (CSO) - Multi-Family Construction Sites

Position Summary
We are seeking a **Construction Safety Officer (CSO)** to be allocated full-time to a multi-family construction project. This is a **site-based, project contract role**. The CSO will oversee day-to-day safety management on-site, ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site CSO for the duration of the assigned project.
- Develop, implement, and monitor project-specific safety plans and procedures.
- Conduct daily safety inspections, hazard assessments, and audits.
- Deliver orientations, toolbox talks, and safety training sessions to workers and subcontractors.
- Maintain accurate documentation including site safety logs, incident reports, and inspection records.
- Respond to and investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; recommend corrective actions.
- Liaise with WorkSafeBC inspectors, site supervisors, and project managers to ensure safety compliance.
- Promote and reinforce a proactive safety culture on-site.
**Qualifications**:
- Valid **Construction Safety Officer (CSO) certification** in British Columbia.
- Minimum **3 years of safety experience** in construction, preferably in high-rise or multi-family projects.
- In-depth knowledge of **WorkSafeBC regulations** and occupational health and safety practices.
- Strong communication skills for engaging with trades, supervisors, and management.
- Ability to work independently and maintain thorough safety documentation.
- First Aid Level 2 or higher is an asset.
Additional Information
- This is a **project-based contract role**; duration will align with the assigned construction project.
- The position is **site-based**, with full-time presence required at the project location.
- Opportunities for allocation to additional projects upon completion.
