This position will have dual responsibility for both HSE (60%) and Quality (40%). This position will require working closely with all departments in Automotive & Industrial Americas to elevate the IIF (Injury and Incident Free) and quality culture. The QHSE Specialist will provide leadership and technical expertise in HSE, Quality and Continuous Improvement. The role requires above average continuous improvement mindset, a great passion for learning, creativity, innovativeness, and excellent organizational skills.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
**HSE**
- Maintain HSE Management System and gain expertise in the Velocity software, HSE processes/documentation, reports and records
- Act as Velocity System Admin for A&I Americas
- Continuously improve the HSE Management System and related processes
- Coordinate/execute HSE calendar of compliance
- Develop, coordinate & conduct HSE trainings
- Conduct incident investigations and lead root cause analysis and determination of effective corrective actions
- Lead the promotion of IIF culture in the shop floor and offices
- Coordinate/oversee regular HSE meetings (ex. JHSC, safety stand downs)
- Facilitate visits and inspections by regulatory organizations and customers
- Receive certification as Beam Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)
**QMS**
- Maintain Quality Management System (IATF 16949, ISO 9001) and gain expertise in product and supplier quality systems, quality engineering and quality mindset
- Continuously improve the Quality Management System, processes and documentation
- Lead the promotion of quality and continuous improvement mindset in end-to-end processes
- Support internal and external QMS audits
**Quality Engineering**
- Conduct investigation of internal/external quality issues, lead root cause analyses and determination of effective countermeasures/CAPA with cross functional teams
- Conduct Continuous Improvement and Quality Mindset training
- Develop quality standards for facility to adopt and execute
- Adopt APQP principles and execute APQP processes with cross functional teams
**Metrics**
- Lead the management and improvement of HSE and Quality Metrics
- Streamline processes for data collection, analyses, reporting and management
**Others**
- Other duties as assigned by the manager
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science
- Ceritified in Lean/Six Sigma considered an asset
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in HSE/Quality/CI or related field
**SKILLS**
**Required**:
- Possess a continuous improvement mindset
- Excellent organizational skills, self-motivated
- Strong desire to train and facilitate
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Above average interpersonal skills and excellent communication and writing skills
**Preferred**:
- Training or exposure in Lean and/or Lean Six Sigma or equivalent
- Some experience in training/facilitation
**Ideal**:
- Experienced/familiarity with management systems, specifically ISO9001, IATF 16949 and N299
- Training or exposure in HSE Management Systems or standards
