HR Associate

St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre Brantford is seeking an
- Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the HR Associate provides confidential, timely and accurate Human Resources support in all areas of recruitment, training, benefit administration, disability management, and general Human Resources transactions. The role supports the delivery of high-quality HR services and initiatives for St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre Brantford.**Key Accountabilities and Success Criteria**
- Serve as a resource to staff, provide information, research, interpretation and advice regarding HR policies, procedures and practices
- Coordinates all elements of the recruitment process
- Coordinates disability management, including WSIB
- Perform a range of HR transactional/administrative tasks such as benefits administration, personnel/organizational data changes, leaves of absences, running reports, termination of employment administration
- Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form
- Model a culture that reflects SJLCB's values, mission and vision
- Promote clear, consistent expectations that focus on enhancing the achievement and the overall wellbeing of SJLCB and its staff.
- Actively participates in mitigating risk for the organization.
- Ad hoc duties as assigned

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Post Secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field, required
- Current membership with the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario (HRPA) or working towards it, preferred
- One (1) - Two (2) years’ experience in Human Resources, healthcare preferred
- Knowledge of relevant employment legislation i.e. _Employment Standards Act; Ontario _Human Rights Code
- Experience working within a unionized environment
- CHRP designation in place or in progress, an asset
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated ability to deal with sensitive issues with confidentiality, tact and diplomacy
- Ability to work effectively - both independently and within a team environment - and to successfully manage multiple priorities
- Strong time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Natural curiosity and the ability to learn new skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, HRIS (e.g. Quadrant)
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service
- Demonstrated commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of SJLCB
