**Job Summary**
The As Required Deaf/Blind Intervenor plays a crucial role in facilitating communication and providing support to individuals who are deaf and blind. This position requires a compassionate and patient individual who can adapt to various environments and situations. The intervenor will work closely with clients to ensure their needs are met, promoting independence and enhancing their quality of life.

**Duties**
- Provide one-on-one support to individuals who are deaf and blind, assisting them in navigating their environment.
- Facilitate communication between the client and others using tactile sign language or other appropriate methods.
- Assist clients in participating in social, educational, and recreational activities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times.
- Collaborate with other professionals, family members, and caregivers to develop effective communication strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress reports as required.
- Adapt to the unique needs of each client, demonstrating flexibility in approach and techniques.

**Qualifications**
- Experience working with individuals who are deaf and blind.
- Proficiency in tactile sign language or willingness to learn is essential.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to promoting independence for individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of data collection and assessment.
- Report preparation skills.
- Ability to articulate progress reports/data collection/assessments to interested parties.
- Plan and participate in the circle of care and collaborate on strategies/goal setting.
- Ability to pass background checks as required by organizational policies.
- Flexibility to work on an as-needed basis, adapting to varying schedules and client needs.

This position is a contract position for one year to be available for as required assignments in relation to the specialization.

**Job Type**: Freelance

Pay: $24.50-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 - 10 per week
