The team typically includes psychologists, clinical social workers, counsellors with master’s degrees, and nurses with specialized training in CYMH. These professionals work collaboratively with clients and families to provide a full continuum of services, including intake, screening and referral, assessment and planning, treatment, case management, and clinical consultation. Services range from mental health promotion and illness prevention to early intervention, treatment, and ongoing support, and are delivered in partnership with families and communities to foster positive outcomes. **The Role** CYMH Clinicians, including Infant/Early Childhood Clinicians, provide direct clinical services such as assessment, treatment, suicide risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis intervention. Clinicians work in a variety of flexible settings including homes, schools, and community spaces to meet the unique needs of children, youth, and their families. The Infant/Early Childhood Clinician focuses specifically on the emotional, social, and behavioural development of infants and young children within the context of their family relationships, promoting secure attachment, emotional regulation, and healthy development. It shares valuable insights and personal stories that highlight the impact you can have in this role. **Qualifications**: **Education and Experience Requirements** - Masters in Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level, or equivalent. - **NOTE**: If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered. - Minimum of one (1) year full-time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services. - Experience running groups for parents and or children 6 years of age and under in a community mental health setting. Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver’s licence with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).Preference may be given to applicants with the following: - Experience running groups for parents and or children 6 years of age and under in a community mental health setting. - One (1) or more years of experience working with parents/caregivers and children 6 years of age and under in a community mental health setting. - Experience with a variety of developmental screens and assessments related to mental health in young children. - Training in infant/child development as well as clinical experience working with infants and young children.
