System Equine is an expanding Canadian-run Company specializing in the equine industry with over 40 dynamic employees located in the picturesque countryside of Rockwood between Guelph and Acton. System Equine has continued to grow over the past 35 years as a diverse family company, continuing to pave the way in the horse industry with our industry-leading stalls, fencing, and equipment. We are looking to grow further with a new dynamic employment opportunity, System Equine is looking for a Saw Operator to join our production team.

**Job Responsibilities and Requirements**:

- Sets up and operate Hyd-Mech Band Saw, Vertical Mill, Drill Presses, Mag Drills as well as grinders and sanders
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings specifications, such as material, type, and size of stock, and dimensions to be cut
- Measures work for conformance to specifications and accuracy
- Maintains a clean and organized work area; keeping steel racks organized and keeping steel for various jobs organized
- Building skids to specified dimensions for shipping to customers and vendors
- Assistance with plasma machine
- Comply with all company policies and workplace safety procedures
- Must possess excellent attendance and punctuality

**Requirements**:

- Experience working with various tools; Saws, Measuring Tape, Grinders, Sanders, Power Tools, and more
- Competency with Math and the ability to carry out math equations quickly
- Must be able to read imperial measurements with a tape measure
- Must be able to work from verbal or written instructions
- cut lists etc
- Comfortable working in a welding shop environment
- Own Vehicle - no public transportation available
- Comfortable lifting of 50 lbs consistently and standing for long periods of time
- Able to work overtime as required
- sometimes on short notice
- Ability to drive a tow motor/forklift is preferred

Days - Monday to Thursday 6:30 AM to 5 PM

**Job Types**: Permanent, Full-time

**Salary**: $18.00-$23.00 per hour

**Education**:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Metalworking Machine Operators: 2 years (preferred)
- saw operator: 2 years (preferred)
