**Role**

We are currently seeking to hire a full-time, hourly **Packager** for our Production Department and would welcome your interest in this opportunity. Reporting to the Packaging Supervisor, the Packager contributes to department operational efficiency by packaging loose items to a consistent quality in a timely manner to be shipped onwards.

**Accountabilities**

There are three required consistent accountabilities that need to be observed for this role:

- Packaging and labeling of work order parts
- Completing packaging of work orders on time
- Accuracy of information

**Job Tasks**
- Identify items accurately and print out and attach the corresponding label
- Utilize the internal scanning system to indicate that the item is complete
- Ensure the mouldings are packaged efficiently
- Operate Westwood’s internal software system
- Refer to Westwood’s internal process directives to confirm the correct colour
- Ensure quality standards are maintained in accordance with Westwood acceptable standards
- Identify product discrepancies and defects, correct where practicable or notify Supervisor
- Recognize production child items (i.e., ROS, Adj Shelf, Double Shelf, Friction Shelf)
- Accurately package Barbacks and Fridge gables
- Operate Packsize machine unsupervised
- Accurately label sample chips
- Complete the required paperwork for Expedite/Warranty work orders
- Prioritize incoming orders
- Present completion feedback to Order Completion Coordinator
- Coordinate with End of Line (EOL) worker for pink tag parts
- Accurately label and package sample doors
- Package all expedite, warranty, yellow tag, and pink tag orders (Senior)

**Requirements**:

- Experience in a multiple wood products environment an asset.
- Ability to lift work pieces up to 50 lbs. with safe work practices.
- Manual dexterity required for operating packaging equipment.
- Previous experience working as an effective team member in a safety sensitive manner.
- Capability of consistent accurate work under pressure situations and deadlines.
- Established organizational skills to ensure work gets processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, interact well with employees in all departments and have a high degree of attention to detail.
- Able to read and write in English.
- Able to work overtime as required.
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
