Reporting to the Program Coordinator, be responsible for planning & implementing drama instructional classes such as: Little Actors, Junior Actors, and Musical Theatre. Engage and interact with participants while providing direction in a fun, enjoyable environment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Being responsible for ensuring the safety, enjoyment, and care of registered participants in City of Oshawa drama programs
- Planning and implementing drama classes, including games/activities
- Encourage and assist in the progress of each participant
- Being familiar with City of Oshawa policies and procedures, and emergency procedures and be able to implement such procedures (fire, power failure, building evacuation)
- Reporting all incidents, accidents, issues and concerns to the Program Coordinator and completing all formal paperwork (accident, incident, complaint forms, weekly attendance, lesson plans, progress cards)
- Answering questions and inquiries, while providing effective customer service to registrants/patrons of the program
- Ensure all equipment is prepared/put away during each session
- Support and demonstrate the City of Oshawa core values of Authenticity, Courage, and Trust
- Other duties as assigned
**Requirements**:
- Demonstrated ability to teach drama classes
- Experience working with children in a similar setting
- Volunteer and/or previous drama instruction experience
- Possess and keep current Standard First Aid/CPR ‘C’ qualifications
- Demonstrate good customer service and communication skills to deal effectively and courteously with staff and the general public; good interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
- Attend all staff trainings and meetings
- Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
