In this role you will be responsible for performing and overseeing customer service and order entry activities ensuring that quality product delivers to customer on time. This position provides customer service and project management support to maximize growth and profitability through organization, execution, control for the successful and profitable completion of packaging production.

**What you’ll do as a Packaging Support Specialist**:
- Coordinate all packaging order processing (sales orders & contracts) and shipping schedules relating custom, full truck load, PAYG and/or special orders.
- Maintain progress of all orders to achieve production milestones and delivery timelines; ensuring all tasks/projects are completed on time and in accordance with objectives and requirements of all stakeholders.
- Confirm order details with customers for right-the-first-time information.
- Coordinate all change order requests; facilitates with Buyer Planner and confirms with customers.
- Follow up and monitor order progress with internal team to ensure quality packaging delivers on time and in full.
- Share open sales order reports with internal/external suppliers and works to resolve any order exceptions. Communicates order exceptions with customer immediately as required.
- Work with warehouse and Logistics team to attain packaging freight rates; ensures accuracy and timely delivery of quality product.
- Prepare packaging orders for invoicing.
- Monitor account statements for packaging customer at time of order and communicate payment requirements on overdue accounts.
- Coordinate the empty dunnage returns process with customers and internal teams; ensures records and log are kept up to date.
- Communicate packaging inventory levels with customer.
- Monitor aged inventory levels and communicates with customer when applicable.
- Assist with establishing item material codes in ERP for first runs as required.
- Assist with communicating company’s packaging value offering to customers.
- Assist with establishing packaging customer service and production SOPS and best practices.
- Assist with maintaining CRM records and tasks as required.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
**Things you will need to be successful**:
- A degree or diploma from an accredited college or university is required but extensive experience would offset the lack of a degree. Must have 2 - 5 years’ experience working in within the packaging industry.
- Demonstrates a strong customer-centric focus and takes responsibility to follow up with customers to ensure their needs and expectations are exceeded.
- Strong business communication skills in English (both written and spoken). Fluent in French (both written and spoken) would be an asset.
- Displays a strong work ethic and is committed to seeing tasks through to completion. Recognizes quickly when progress is stalling and takes immediate action to get back on track.
- Adapts well to changing circumstances, direction, and strategy. Demonstrates ability to change direction in response to fluid work situations.
- Demonstrates responsiveness and reacts with appropriate urgency to situations and events that require a quick action or turnaround.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office with proficiency in Excel; ERP & CRM system knowledge an asset.
- Experience working in an ERP and CRM environment would be an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills, initiates contact and builds strong, lasting working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
