CTS delivers on our mission by providing accessible camps for **free** to youth ages 12-18. We also promote youth leadership with our Peer Leader program, allowing youth ages 15-18 to take a central role in the operation and planning of our summer weekend camps. The program’s goal is to:
1. Create region-wide opportunities for youth to challenge themselves in leadership, social responsibility, personal development, and youth ownership;
2. Provide an opportunity for youth to connect through eco-education, volunteerism, and community building;
3. Help support and encourage youth to connect with parks, the outdoors, and community activities.

**Position Overview**

We are seeking a Camp Supervisor, Excursion to assist in planning and preparation of our camp operations for the summer camp delivery season from June - August. The Camp Supervisor will work with and directly supervise Peer Leaders aged 15-18 and Camp Counsellors, as well as program participants, including aiding the Program Manager in evaluations, reviews, and admin tasks. Camp Supervisor, Excursion will work with the Program Manager, Camp Supervisor, Programs, Peer Leaders, and Camp Counsellors to ensure that all planning, coordination, and supply needs are met for the successful preparation and facilitation of Weekday Excursion camps. This position will include an important responsibility for the development and implementation of a new program curriculum, with a strong impact on the culture and mechanics of the weekday program going forward. The focus will be on developing purposeful camp programming that encourages the positive relationship building of participants with themselves, each other, and the natural environment. The Camp Supervisor, Programs also is responsible for coordinating with our volunteer Peer Leaders including hosting regular meetings and evaluations. This position will be in ratio and directly facilitating their program from Tuesday-Friday, with Mondays serving as a prep and reset day, as well as general support for CTS operations. The position is primarily 8 hours a day during weekdays but may require flexible work hours **possibly** **including weekends or evenings while the program is operating**. The position will be required to work the entire contract period.

The Camp Supervisor, Excursion will be directly supervised and mentored by the Program Manager and work closely with each other to deliver outdoor programming with a focus on program facilitation and community building.

**Key Responsibilities Include**:

- Mentor and work in collaboration with Camp Supervisors and Peer Leaders;
- Work with Program Manager, Peer Leaders, and Camp Counsellors to maintain reasonable levels of safety and risk management;
- Plan camps that prioritize youth engagement with environmental education, volunteerism, community building, and leadership skill development;
- Develop a new and purposeful curriculum for Weekday Excursion Camps;
- Include Peer Leaders in the planning of programming on a week-to-week basis;
- Be in ratio during camp, participate fully, and facilitate curriculum, while empowering and mentoring Camp Counsellor and Peer Leaders in their leadership development;
- Ensuring proactive and dependable communication with parents/guardians, park partners, Peer Leaders, Camp Counsellors, and the Program Manager to ensure details and needs are known and prepared for;
- Attend all required meetings and events;
- Assist with the development and delivery of marketing materials for CTS programs, including attending community events and setting up booths in public spaces;
- Assist with summary reports of camps and regular mentoring of Peer Leaders;
- Assist with administrative tasks such as registration, and complete reporting, shopping, and curriculum development;
- Maintain inventory, cleaning, and organization of necessary equipment;
- Prepare necessary supplies, materials, and equipment prior to the start of a particular camp;
