**Night Watch Person/ Marina Maintenance for Three Rivers Marinas**

**Job Type & Pay**

Seasonal Job for the Summer months (12 weeks with possible extension) & $16.64- $17.75 hourly (depending on qualifications) incl. 4% Vacation for 40 hours weekly (full-time). Based at our Brudenell Marina location, expected to report to Montague daily.

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for night duties (2-10pm) performing minor repairs, helping boaters tie up, taking payments, as well as minor repairs to docks and marina with operational functions supporting the marina. Reports directly to the Marina Manager.

**Job Summary**

Supervises and walks the docks during the evening and early night time. Performs maintenance & repairs related to the marina, docks, buildings, waterfront grounds and equipment, in one or more areas such as electrical, plumbing, painting, and grounds-keeping.

**Job Description and Responsibilities**

1. Provide security watch over the vessel and terminal facility in compliance with both the Vessel and Facility Security Plans during night watch hours and maintain the No Visitor Policy, unless they have paid for a visiting berth. Maintaining a vigilant watch over the safety of the vessel by conducting frequent rounds in spaces where flooding, fire or other situations could be detrimental to the vessel.

2. Establishes, monitors, and carries out preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for buildings, equipment, and grounds. Ensures building and equipment meet all safety, security and fire regulations and policies. Makes recommendations for major repairs and purchases to supervisor.

4. Collects and removes garbage and recyclable materials and ensures the safe disposal of hazardous waste.

5. Cleans external areas such as entranceways, sidewalks, and parking lots using manual and power brooms, rakes, shovels, and other equipment to remove dirt, leaves, snow and other refuse. Performs minor gardening and lawn maintenance tasks when needed (there is usual support from town and volunteers for this).

6. Completes and maintains related records such as maintenance logs and security incident reports.

7. Transports equipment, hardware and supplies manually and/or using aides such as dollies and carts. Operates a motor vehicle to pick up and move goods and supplies.

8. Building and repairing docks for the Three Rivers marinas, including: installing cleats on the docks, repairing/replacing boards. Performs basic maintenance of the marina facilities including: tightening bolts, installing deck boards, changing light bulbs, and painting; may perform or assists with more complex repairs such as rewiring lines, installing water pipes, and repairing broken faucets.

9. Performs other related duties as required, including: helping pump fuel, tie up boats and other tasks required by the marina manager especially when staff is limited.

**Physical Requirements**

Tasks require the regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work.

Some combinations of climbing and balancing including climbing ladders, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

May involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds).

**Environmental Exposure**

Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dust, pollen, odors, temperature and weather extremes, hazardous materials, fumes, machinery, electric currents, traffic hazards, or water hazards. If you would rather be working outdoors in the summer than being inside, this is the job for you.

**Qualifications, Training, Education and Knowledge**

Preferably completed Grade 12, plus related vocational training such as a building maintenance courses or a red seal/work experience in carpentry, dock building and other trades experience. Three to Five (3-5) years recent related experience. Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
