S2425-39 Educational Assistant/Preschool Instructor - Iron River School
We are seeking a temporary full-time (1.0 fte) Educational Assistant / Preschool Instructor commencing as soon as possible, until November 5, 2024. The assignment involves assisting with student educational program needs including social skills, behaviour skills, self-help and personal care needs. The position requires a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment.
Iron River School is located in the community of Iron River with approximately 90 students in Preschool to grade 8. At Iron River School we believe that each and every person can learn and has the opportunity to learn, student and staff are entitled to a safe and caring learning environment, stakeholders should have opportunities for meaningful involvement and that education is everyone's responsibility.
**Preference will be given to applicants who have**:
Level 2 or 3 Early Child Care Certificate
First Aid Certification
Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant
Knowledge and experience with behavioural strategies
Experience working one-on-one and/or in a group setting
Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers
Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategies
Experience assisting student with self-help and personal care needs
Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans
**Training and skills that would be an asset include**:
Relative experience in educational assistance, and/or rehabilitation
SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
