Sheetmetal Journeyman

Gateway Mechanical is looking for a Sheetmetal Journeyman (Journeyperson)

Attending to 40,000+ service calls per year, Gateway is the largest HVAC & Refrigeration service provider in Western Canada. Our model is comprised of local branch teams with fully qualified personnel representing HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing/gas fitting, sheet metal, and electrical trades. These teams are supported by centers of excellence including professional engineers and project managers which ensures Gateway’s full technical capability is available for every project and service call.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Installation and fabrication of hangers;
- Assemble ductwork;
- Prepare material and consumable lists;
- Determine roof layout;
- Coordinate with other trades on site;
- Complete the required inspections, safety reports, and field-level hazard assessments.

Other required duties may be assigned that fall within the parameters of the primary responsibility of the position.

**Minimum Requirements/Certifications**:

- Valid Sheetmetal certification;
- Stainless experience required;
- Understanding of construction and building codes;
- Understand Prints, Specs, and Shop Drawings;
- Hold valid safety certifications including First Aid and CPR, EWP, CSTS, Fall Protection etc.;
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable 5-year driving abstract.
