**Community Disability Services Worker**

Lethbridge Family Services (LFS) is seeking a Community Disability Services Worker to join our team This position will provide support in our DaCapo department. In this role, you will facilitate the development of skills and competencies to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities, brain injuries, and/or fetal alcohol spectrum disorders to pursue and achieve their goals by accessing meaningful community-based activities.

**Job description**:
**- Support individuals to participate in meaningful community-based employment, community and volunteer placements, recreation and leisure and life skills activities.
- Complete personal care routines which may include assistance with eating routines, administering medications, and operating a mechanical lift.
- Support people with nonverbal communication methods.
- Promote healthy and active lifestyles, including participation in a variety of physical activities (e.g., swimming, bowling, walking).
- Assist with skill development in areas such as daily living activities and social interactions.
- Complete required documentation.

**Required skills and qualifications**:

- High school diploma and/or two years direct frontline experience in the field.
- Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, registration and insurance ($2 000 000 liability insurance).
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Strong communications in both verbal and written English.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to changes.
- Preference will be given to applicants with experience/education supporting individuals on the autism spectrum.
- Ability to follow a fixed schedule and routine in a timely manner.
- Strong skills in assisting individuals to manage anxiety and problem solve.

All new employees must provide a police information check and vulnerable sector check dated not less than 90 days prior to the date of hire.

**Hours: Monday-Friday (35 hours/week)**
