Optical/electronics Assembly and Test Technician

**Company Information**
We are looking for an someone with technical background to work at our Burnaby headquarters, starting as soon as possible. Salary will be competitive with industry standards and augmented to reflect talent.
**Position Summary**
The Optical/Electronics Assembly and Test Technician position is responsible for constructing and testing Osensa products following complex assembly and calibration procedures.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Test and calibrate fiber optic sensors and electronic assemblies.
- Assemble electronic module, fiber optic temperature sensors and extension cables, includes cleaving, bonding, and polishing.
- Inspect and test completed products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, modify and repair of assemblies as required.
- Follow complex assembly procedures, customer specifications and quality standards.
- Participate in training and certification programs to upgrade job knowledge and skill set.
- Participate in all team-level quality improvement initiatives, 5S and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Collaborate with other team members to improve assembly processes and achieve production goals.
- Other duties as required.
**Qualifications and Skills**
The following are required:
- High school graduate plus at least two years of a college.
- Attention to detail in ensuring that quality and efficiency standards are met or exceeded.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Be a team player and work well with others.
The following are not required but are considered assets:
- Previous experience working in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with basic principles of fiber optic cables.
- Hands on manufacturing skills such as fiber optical cable cleaving and stripping, optical lens bonding and electronic components soldering.
- Familiar with ISO-9001 system and 5S principles.

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
