**What you will do**:
**This position is for a maternity leave replacement. The length of employment will be for the duration of the maternity leave. (18 months)**
The Finance Team Lead is an outstanding opportunity for someone with an exceptional track record of being self-driven, self-organized with a strong need to complete tasks given, and who employs a collaborative approach to working with others and a tireless work ethic. They must have high attention to detail, solid understanding of the accounting of brokerage operations. This position requires maturity, a willingness and devotion to putting the needs of the company and its agent shareholders and customers ahead of their own personal needs.
**How you will make an impact**:
- Analysis of key general ledger accounts and preparation of Monthly Journal Entries as required
- Assist in implementing effective internal controls and prepare working papers for these controls
- Reconciliation of General Bank Accounts
- Analysis of revenue, costs and profitability regression analysis
- Financial Planning and analysis on actual vs budget as required
- Liaison with Accounts Receivable and Payable team as required
- Coordination of monthly and annual filings with Government i.e. HST/GST
- Coordination of annual T4 and T4A creation and filing
- Supervising Junior Accountant in preparing Income Verification and Letter of employment for agents
- Tracking and updating Revenue Share and Agent Equity programs
- Assist Canadian Controller and Corporate Accounting Manager in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities and working papers for US consolidation
- Assist in reviewing working papers prepared by the Financial Specialist(s) and Junior Accountant
- Assist in doing research and writing accounting memos
- Assist in preparation of year-end audit requirements
- Assist in ad hoc projects/tasks as requested
- Answers inquiries from Agents, Staff, eXp US, and external Accountants
**How you will grab our attention**:
- 3+ years of experience in real estate bookkeeping/ accounting
- Prior experience with Lone Wolf and Transaction Desk experience strongly preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word & Excel and Google Doc’s required
- Must be comfortable in a remote environment working with various communication technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work from home and has (dedicated) access to high-speed Internet
- Must have a high level of organizational, technical and time management skills
- Must be highly flexible and have a strong attention to detail
- Must have a positive attitude and excellent ability to work independently with little supervision
**Education**:
- BA/BS in accounting/finance required
- CPA strongly preferred
