**Job Summary**:
The Director of Student Financial Aid is responsible for leading and managing the financial aid department to ensure that students receive appropriate financial assistance and support. This role involves strategic planning, regulatory compliance, team leadership, and direct oversight of financial aid programs to help students access and manage funding for their education.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Leadership and Management**:
- Supervise and mentor the financial aid staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations and professional development.
- Develop and implement strategic goals for the financial aid office, aligning with the institution’s overall objectives.
**Policy and Compliance**:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and periodic review of financial aid policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.
- Monitor changes in financial aid legislation and regulations, and ensure that institutional policies and practices are updated accordingly.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to all relevant laws and regulations governing financial aid programs.
**Financial Aid Administration**:
- Manage the administration of all financial aid programs, including grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study programs.
- Develop and maintain financial aid budgets, including allocation of funds and monitoring of expenditures.
**Financial Planning**:
- **Personalized Plans**:Develop personalized financial plans tailored to each student's needs and circumstances for direct students
- **Financial Assessments**:Conduct thorough assessments to determine students' financial resources and budgeting requirements.
- **Expense Management**:Provide guidance on managing educational expenses effectively, including tuition, fees, and living expenses.
- **Financial Literacy**: Offer advice and resources on financial literacy topics to help students make informed decisions.
**Student Support**:
- Address complex student inquiries and resolve financial aid-related issues or disputes.
**Outreach and Education**:
- Collaborate with other departments, such as admissions and student services, to enhance the overall student experience.
**Data Analysis and Reporting**:
- Utilize data to analyze financial aid trends, assess program effectiveness, and make data-driven decisions.
- Prepare reports and presentations for institutional leadership and external agencies, detailing financial aid statistics, trends, and outcomes.
**Strategic Planning**:
- Develop and execute strategies to enhance the financial aid office’s services, streamline operations, and improve student access to financial resources.
- Work with institutional leadership to set long-term financial aid goals and initiatives.
**Qualifications**:
- Master’s degree in finance, education, business administration, or a related field preferred. Bachelor’s degree with substantial relevant experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial aid administration, with at least 3 years in a managerial or director-level role.
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong leadership and management abilities, with a proven track record of effective team supervision and development.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and support students, staff, and external partners.
- Commitment to student success and financial equity.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strategic thinker with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation in financial aid services.
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
