The Toronto Railway Museum is looking for a friendly, knowledgeable, and outgoing individual to work as a Visitor Services Coordinator. This position will work alongside the museum’s management team and other personnel to operate the museum front desk while providing quality customer service.

This is a full-time (five days per week, 40 hours per week) permanent position. You will be assigned a stable five-day schedule, working from 9:30am-6:00pm, and will have set, consecutive days off.

As a Visitor Services Coordinator, you will engage in the following responsibilities on a daily basis:
**Responsibilities**
- Independently support the day-to-day reception area of the museum and ensure that processes and protocols are executed effectively;
- Sell museum admission tickets and manage cash flows from visitors and store sales according to the relevant TRM protocols
- Provide excellent customer service by proactively engaging with customers, educating them on the museum, and providing them with additional information as needed;
- Once projects have been approved, project management responsibilities for small projects may be assigned by the Museum Leads. For some projects this may include coordinating with outside stakeholders.
- Support with supervision of summer operations
- All other duties as assigned

**We are looking for the following qualifications**:

- Previous experience working in retail is an asset;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a specific focus on effective communication - listening, understanding and responding, conflict management and resolution, teamwork oriented, a positive and customer service-oriented attitude;
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions and in indoor settings: this position will require walking over uneven terrain at times;
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion;
- Bilingualism, especially French (speaking and written), is an asset;
- Interest or previous work experience in a nonprofit or small business environment a plus

- **Ability to follow instruction and procedure**: The technician is expected to diligently follow our documented procedures as safety is our most important concern, especially in terms of our maintenance protocols.
- **Dedicated**: We want people who will commit to the period for which they are hired.
- **Punctual**: The museum opens on time every day, and we need you to be there to help us out.
- **Problem solving**: The technician will receive instruction and tasks from restoration volunteers and management, but will be expected to work without direct supervision.
