Casual Supply Staff

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Casual Supply Staff team. As a Casual Supply Staff member, you will have the opportunity to work in various classrooms and the kitchen to provide support in educating and caring for children. This is a great opportunity for individuals with experience in early childhood education or care giving who are looking for flexible work arrangements.

**Position Summary**: Supply Staff will demonstrate competence and dedication to the care and education of young children by providing coverage during the absence of an employee. All aspects of the Supply Staff position will be performed while working within the framework of the vision, mission and value statements and the policies and procedures of Milestones Children’s Centre, the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, the Child Care Centre Licensing Manual and How _Does_ Learning Happen?.
- Demonstrate an understanding of Milestones Children's Centre Policies and Procedures and the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014
- Work as part of a team and share responsibilities with others
- Sharing responsibilities and assisting in the smooth operation of the daily routines through supporting all programs (infants, toddlers, preschool aged and school age) and/or kitchen in a casual capacity
- Assist in the implementation of program plans which are developmentally appropriate and inclusive of all children based on direct observation of how the children are interacting with their environment
- Assist in the kitchen in the preparation of snacks/lunch and washing dishes
- Assist in enhanced cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting of common areas of the Centre and/or School Age program
- Implement a variety of positive and consistent approaches towards behaviour guidance which are consistent with the policies, practices and philosophy of Milestones Children's Centre
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the position through attendance, punctuality and enthusiasm for work

**Basic Requirements**:

- minimum 18 years of age
- high school diploma (at minimum)
- up-to-date Standard First Aid & Infant/Child CPR-C
- Criminal Reference Check (vulnerable sector) within the last 6 months
- up-to-date immunizations, specifically tetanus (within the last 10 years) and MMR

**Hours**:

- must be available anytime between 6:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
- must be available for potential shifts a minimum of 12 work days per month (Monday to Friday only)

**Wage**: minimum starting rate for non-RECE supply staff is $20.97/hour (plus $2.08/hour of wage enhancement grant for any time worked with the children or in the kitchen). Minimum starting rate for RECE supply staff is $24.41/hour (plus $2.08/hour of wage enhancement grant for any time worked with the children or in the kitchen). Meetings, orientation and Professional Learning are not eligible for wage enhancement. Starting rate is based on education and experience. Any Program Assistant shifts (supported by All Kids Belong) will be paid at $17.20/hour plus $2.08 of wage enhancement provided by Milestones Children's Centre.

This is a casual position, with no guaranteed number of hours. It is in place to cover for staff who call in sick or have scheduled vacation time off. Shifts could range from 2 hours to 8 hours, depending on the need for coverage.

The shift that you are called to work may be in a program with children aged anywhere between birth-12 years, as program support or in our kitchen(s), and will be at one of our 7 locations in St. Thomas or Port Stanley, as well as at our new location in Aylmer. Location of work will change based on the needs of the shift requiring coverage.
