**Job Overview**

**Duties**
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate purchasing activities for all items being procured _except_ raw materials/meat
- Analyze inventory needs based on sales trends and inventory levels.
- Execute periodic and monthly inventory activities to ensure proper counts are conducted and inventory is accurate.
- Establish and monitor delivery schedules
- Evaluate cost and quality of goods/services to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Communicate with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements and documentation
- Contact suppliers to resolve problems and assists with claims management
- Make alternate arrangements in the event of shortages or delayed deliveries to minimize impact on the organization
- Identify and select qualified and reliable vendors of materials, equipment and products/services
- Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products or substitute materials
- Maintain an extensive database for all orders that is up-to-date and provides information for analysis and reporting

**Experience**
- Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or shipping preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of vendor management practices and sourcing strategies.
- Ability to self-manage, problem solve, plan, organize and prioritize.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
- Familiarity with the production process and understanding of material specifications is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build relationships internally and externally.

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
