This position offers the opportunity to work remotely. Intertek Catalyst’s offices are in Guelph, Ontario, and we have staff working in Toronto, Atlanta, Austin, and Ottawa.

**Note**:This is a full-time, 6-month contract position.

**Role**:
The **Illustrator **will have a passion for all aspects of graphic design: creative concepts, photography, illustration, typography, and layout. They will also have a good understanding of brand development, icon systems development, storyboarding, motion design, video editing, and UX/UI.

**Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Participate and collaborate in brainstorm and concept meetings
- Collaborate with the Art Directors and Senior Illustrator to develop icon-based communication systems, custom illustrations, style guides, and graphic production templates
- Work with Art Directors to develop concept sketches and detailed storyboards for video and motion graphics production
- Create high quality instructional designs in conjunction with other Designers and Art Directors
- Produce production-ready assets from initial art concepts while adhering to brand standards
- Manage ongoing deadlines and tasks efficiently as set out by the Project Manager
- Contribute to the quality assurance of all project deliverables

**Requirements**:

- A degree or diploma in Graphic Design or equivalent professional experience
- An online portfolio that demonstrates creative problem-solving abilities, strong aesthetics and design principles in layout design, and digital illustration
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Experience working with Adobe Premiere and After Effects is a plus
- Ability to illustrate digitally with an iPad and Procreate, or via other digital input devices such Cintiq or Wacom tablet is a plus
- A design-thinking approach to problem solving
- Excellent communications skills
- Preference for working collaboratively within teams
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced multi-project environment
- Detail oriented, organized, and a naturally strong work ethic
- An instinctive curiosity and drive to continually learn and develop professionally.
