This is an auxiliary position requiring the incumbent to work with Community

Recreation. Scheduled hours may vary, 3-4 days a week with typical 2-3-hour shifts.

Programs will run out of Esquimalt Teen/Recreation Centre and in surrounding schools such as Esquimalt High and Rockheights Middle School. Teen Nights run Thursday-Saturday 7-10pm. Other youth programs we offer typically run as after school programs, from approximately 3-6pm.

**COMPENSATION & PERKS**
- Salary**:$21.19** =18.59 hourly plus 14% in lieu of benefits (2021 rates).
- Staff Recreation Pass with access to drop-in fitness, drop-in sports, pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna

**DUTIES**:

- Staff will be responsible for welcoming youth, ensuring sign-in occurs, preparing snack with youth, supervising, developing and leading activities which may include games, crafts, cooking, homework help, pool, and foosball.
- Staff will provide all required care and support including, but not limited to, behaviour management, parent communication, and first aid.
- Additional duties will be required during specialized programs.

This position requires you to supervise Grade 6-12 youth programs.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Experience working with youth
- Post Secondary Education desired, Recreation, CYC, Social Work
- First Aid Certification is required
- Clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with our team
